Focusing on the New Year’s Meal
Due to Covid, we had to cook our own lucky New Years’ meal and it turned out so delicious. So this month we have focused on writing these recipes for everyone to enjoy, and it has been a blast. Everything came out tasty and we have eaten really well this month. Hopefully, the extended lucky meals will also give us extra luck this year!
Looking forward, I may spend this year writing for the upcoming holidays. With valentine’s day coming up and then Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day, there is plenty of food activities and recipes to cover until spring. This should keep me nice and busy, and we will get to celebrate the holidays is a very tasty fashion.
Blog Traffic
Traffic was down considerably this month, at 111 visitors for January. This is mostly due to lower social posting. We are focusing more on refining SEO to get more organic visitors from google. While I know social media posts are important and a great way to drive traffic, I feel the organic google posts have more staying power. For instance, my best article on google is Famous Barr’s French Onion Soup. It drives 5-10 visitors a month, without me posting anything new.
Next month a goal is to chart some of these traffic numbers in a meaningful way, so be on the lookout for that!
Expenses
January held no expenses for this blog. We have focused on generating and optimizing great content, and that part is free as long as I write it.
